Method 1: Removing the Code on the Website
If you need to remove the Facebook Pixel due to operational issues, proper setup can help fix them. Although adding the code of this tool to your resource is very easy, the process of removal is somewhat more complex due to the absence of corresponding elements in the parameters.
1.Currently, it’s not possible to completely get rid of a pixel created once in a social media advertising campaign. The only thing you can do is remove the previously added code from the “Head” section on your website pages, thus automatically restricting access from Facebook.
The process of removing the desired part of the code entirely varies depending on the underlying system or editor being used. You can focus on finding the following lines, which are always at the beginning and end of the pixel:
2.If you can’t find the area you want to delete in this way, try using the original code as a basis. To do this, first go to Business Manager, click on the “Business Manager” button on the top panel, and through the menu in the “Business Settings” block select Events Manager.
3.Choose a suitable company from the drop-down list at the top and go to the Data Sources tab. Here you need to find a sub-section with a pixel by clicking LMB on the name.
4.On the right side of the page, use the “Yes” menu to open the Set Up Pixel window.
5.From the available items, select “Manually Add Pixel Code to Website.”
Use the original code in the “Install Base Code on the Website” block to find the matching site in the “Head” tags.
The pixel is integrated into the site for each page, but in the case of manual removal, the action may be delayed. However, if you’ve done everything correctly, data collection from the website will be suspended for several hours, despite the remaining “active” signature.
Method 2: Deleting Pixel Company
Apart from simply getting rid of the code from the website, you can eliminate the advertising campaign in Business Manager, thus automatically deleting all associated data, including the pixel.
While the main feature of this method is the ability to remove an unnecessary tool, this can become problematic, as all pixel units will disappear with the account once, so before taking such radical actions, think carefully about the consequences to avoid losing pages, content, employees, and a lot of other data, especially when even an active pixel may go unnoticed by both the website and Facebook.
