Most visited websites in the UAE :

YouTube topped the list of most visited global websites in the UAE during 2022, recording an average of 130 million visits per month, according to the “Digital UAE 2023: Facts and Figures” report issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government.

YouTube maintained its lead as the most visited website in the UAE, registering more than 292 million monthly visits according to the latest data from the American firm “Semrush”. Google came second in the UAE with over 289 million visits, followed by Facebook with an average of 18.8 million monthly visits. An Indian news website, “X” (formerly known as Twitter), ranked fourth with 11.6 million visits, followed by Instagram in fifth place with 10.4 million visits per month. The social media site “Asian Fanatic” maintained its third position in the UAE. The Indian news website “AndroGoth” also advanced four places to rank fourth in the UAE.

As for internet browsers used to access the web from various devices, “Chrome” topped the list of most used browsers with a share of 68.72%, followed by “Safari” with 16.16%. Microsoft Edge followed with 3%, then Samsung browser with 2.34%, Opera with 1.53%, Firefox with 1.26%, and Android browser with 0.12%. Other internet browsers accounted for 3.87% of usage. Regarding search engines, Google dominated with 95.78%, followed by Bing with 3.09%, and Yahoo with 0.43%. Other search engines accounted for 0.70% of usage.

Regarding internet search methods, various methods were used, with voice assistant search accounting for 22.7% of these methods, product and brand search through social media accounting for 46.7%, and image search accounting for 27.3%. The “Digital UAE 2023: Facts and Figures” report, issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Digital Government, reflects the digital landscape in the country, especially the high level of digital usage in everyday life and government services. This indicates the digital maturity of both users and service providers alike, making the UAE a fully integrated digital environment poised for further leadership and excellence.
