When creating ads using the Ads Manager from Meta, you will be prompted to add a payment method before you can publish your first ad. You can add or change your payment method from your payment settings.
Before you start:
Make sure you have a registered primary payment method.
You must be an admin to perform payment transactions or manage billing information for an ad account.
Ensure that the payment method you want to add is one of the accepted payment options for Meta ads.
If there are no outstanding amounts in your account, the option to pay now will not appear.
If your account is disabled, you won’t be able to follow these steps. Instead, address the issues causing the ad account disablement due to payment failure.
“How to Add a Payment Method in Meta Ads Manager”
To add a payment method to your ad account:
Click on Payment Settings in the Billing section of Ads Manager.
In the Payment Methods section, click on Add Payment Method.
Review the location and currency. If any of this information needs updating, you may need to create a new ad account.
Select the payment method you want to add and click Next.
Review or update the invoice information form, then click Next.
In the Update Confirmations form, select the option that suits your needs—either Pause Ads Temporarily or Continue Running Ads—and click Confirm. Click on Done. The new payment method is now added to your current ad account.
If you have multiple payment methods saved in your ad account, you can set a default payment method. Prepaid funds will be used first, and if none are available, the default payment method will be charged when you make a payment for your ads.
If you share your payment method or ad account information with others, make sure to check with them if you’re unsure about the source of charges on your invoice. Someone you’ve shared this information with might be running ads using your payment method or ad account.
“Paying for Facebook Ad Charges”
To make a payment:
Go to Payment Settings in Ads Manager.
Click Pay Now next to the amount due.
Enter the amount you want to pay.
Select the payment method you want to use for charging the fees.
Click Pay Now. Once you click Pay Now, the charges will be collected from the selected payment method immediately.
Note: It may take up to 5 minutes for this change to reflect on your account. A receipt for the payments you made will be sent to the Billing section of Ads Manager and the email address associated with your ad account.
You can pay your ad charges anytime before reaching the billing threshold or before the monthly invoice date. If you’re not using Pay Now for payment, charges will be collected when you reach the billing threshold or on your invoice date.
